FAQs
Q. How much does a website cost?

With RBS Web Design, the final cost of your website will be determined by the number of pages you want, if other products are purchased, and if the domain name you want is a premium or non-premium domain.  Premium domains can be well over $1,000.00 per year depending upon the recognizable words in the domain.

RBS Web Design packages are competitively priced at $367.05 (start-up cost) for a 5 page, turn-key website that you simply manage after it has been completed.

You will know exactly what your site will cost before we do any work. Payment is due to begin your project.

Q. What type of clients do you build sites for?

We have provided services for a variety of clients who do all kinds of business. Types of entities we have created sites for include:

 Restaurant, Caterer  Churches  Manufacturing
 Construction  City Governments  Salon/Beauty
 Chambers  Home Improvement  Home Builder
 Real Estate & Auctions  Lumber Yard  Independent Agents
 Hunting & Gun Dogs  Meat Locker  Hand-made Jewelry
 Financial Planner  High School Alumni  Travel Agency
 Mortgage Related  Country Club, Golf Course  Insurance Agents
 Vacation Rentals  Non-profit Organizations  Horse Rescue
 Event Promotion  Rural Water District Office  Industry Associations

Q. How can you build sites for so many different types of clients?

We listen to our clients.

We ask a lot of questions about your business or organization, how you do business, what you want to accomplish with your website, and more, then we gather information that you are currently using to promote your business.  Working with that information and the "tools of our trade," we create a well-organized website that functions as an extension of your entity or as the sole representation of your entity.

Q.  Do you offer just training?

Yes. If you want to purchase the products and have RBS Web Design train you on the product, the cost for individual, on-site training is $25.00 USD per hour, 1 hour minimum if your location is within a 1 hour drive from our office.  If your location is more than a 1 hour drive and within a 150 mile radius from our office, the cost of on-site support is $85.00 USD per hour, 1 hour minimum. Travel time to your location will be included.

Site builder training typically takes 3-4 hours.

Q.  Would you come and talk to our group about websites or Web design?

Have a question not asked/answered here? Please let us know.

Q. How long does it take to build a website?

The sooner your site is up and running the sooner you can start to enjoy the benefits of a professionally designed, well-organized, website. RBS Web Design guidelines for non-e commerce sites are 1-5 business days for a 5-page site; 5-14 business days for a 10-page site; and no more than 30 business days for larger sites (that can go up to 999 pages in a single site).

Q. How long will it take for my website to be visible on the Internet?

After a site has been published, it still requires a "propagation" period that takes 24-48 hours before the site is fully propagated across the Internet. Re-designed sites that include a domain transfer to us may take an additional 5 days before the re-designed site is visible due to domain transfer time requirements. We do not control these time requirements.

Q. What is included with a "Turn-key Website" Package?

Products: 1 year of hosting and site builder, 1 year registration of a non-premium .com, .net., or .orig domain name, email (number of accounts depends on size of site). If domain is a transfer, a 1 year registration extension is included. Services: set-up of account, email, website, site design, hands-on training for site management.  Email and phone support.

Q. Why can't people "Google" my site and find it?

Simply put, it takes time.  Time for your site to be "crawled," "indexed" and "ranked."

There are a lot of search engines on the Web--more than just the big 3 (Google, Yahoo!, and Bing).  Search engines provide a service that is paid for by advertising.  They have rules about how sites are "crawled" for info, "indexed" for reference, and "ranked" in importance then listed on their search results pages somewhere in the lineup.

A search engine must know you exist before it can "crawl" your site, the META tags and content on your site must be evaluated for indexing, and a combination of mechanical and human resources must review the indexing keys and number of PRIMARY site visits to establish a rank--the value of reciprocating links has been significantly reduced by some search engines.

If you are not paying for advertising with one, some, or all search engines (and now social networking) sites then you are just another one of hundreds of thousands of websites to be "crawled" and "indexed" and added to the massive database managed by that particular search engine.

How does RBS Web Design contribute to your success with this process?
  • We submit your Web address to Yahoo!, Bing, and Google when your site is completed (it is free and anyone can do it, we just make sure it gets done);
  • we make sure your META tags contain your business/organization information and key words that your target market would use to find you;
  • we maximize indexing opportunity by using ALT tags for images on your site;
  • we organize information on your site to it can be easily indexed;
  • we recommend and encourage our clients to mass advertise their new Web address just like a new "brick and mortar" location because people WILL come directly to your site if you tell them where it is. Those primary site visits will help your ranking over time but most importantly, it gets people to your site;
  • we list our client sites on our website to indirectly promote client sites.

Q.  Why should I hire someone to build my website?

It could save you a lot of money, time, and effort.

A Web professional knows what products are available, what ones suit your needs and what you don't need.

A Web professional will put a significant amount of planning and attention into the development a well-organized website that effectively promotes your business, is visually appealing to and easy to use by site visitors, and meets indexability and search engine optimization needs to maximize your Web presence opportunities.

Down the road, your Web professional will be someone who is familiar with your business/site and can be instrumental in making recommendations for products you may need over time as your business grows and the needs of your Web presence change.
